SPECIAL EVENT ON SUNDAYS: Tour to a reconstructed Roman fort in the Taunus (a wooded highland), about 15 miles from Frankfurt
Discover Bygone Times!
Themes: The Roman Empire and the Germanic tribes, the limes (fortified frontier), migration/invasions of the Germanic tribes (3rd-5th century). How did “Germany” come into being?
We'll meet at 11:30 at a station in Frankfurt city, for example in front of the information desk in the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof/Hbf).
Price: 30 euro/person for guidance (20 euro for students, 10 euro for kids/teens from 6 to 17, 80 euro for families up to 5 persons)
+ 7 euro / 5 (students) / 3 (6-17 y.) / 14 euro (families) entrance fee into the fort which includes museum rooms.
Transport fees for S-Bahn and bus (together about 45 minutes) are included.
Roman cuisine in the fort!
On our way back we’ll make a stop at the Bad Homburg castle.
Duration: about 5 hours, in English or German.
Minimum participants: 4 persons. Please write to me no later than 8 pm the day before.
